HE LIFTS US UP: Love… should not hurt! (1 Cor.13:4-8 NIV)

love is patient
LOVE… It should not hurt!
Many things have been written about “LOVE”. We all dream of the day that our “true love” will come and we will live “happily-ever –after”. We all watch various “love stories” with dreams for our wonderful futures with the love of our lives. But what is love?

Love and marriage has become over commercialized with millions being spent for Valentine’s Day and on elaborate weddings every year. But, how many of these marriages last the year or five years or ten years or more. How many of these marriages are truly based on love? How many are based on lust? How many are based on financial gain? Or how many are based on lies and deceit? Do you really know the person that you are pledging to live your life with? Do you really know the person behind the mask? There are many who put on “shows” to get what they want. Do not fall victim to these!
So how do you tell?

love is

The bible gives us a description of love:
”Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)
Does your relationship fit this description of love? Love should never hurt! It should build up, not tear down. Love should never be abusive!

Love just as Jesus loved His Church, His bride. He gave Himself for her. We witness a confused day regarding this topic love. It is now more something merely said, but that is no definition at all. Love, as Jesus loved, is an active verb, not a noun, and definitely not an inactive emotion. To love as Jesus loved, we must need lay our own lives down. You say well, “love should never hurt,” for when the authentic gospel produces true Christlike love, the recipient of true love will know Jesus in and through the love of His vessel, just as if He were present Himself. In reality,if we have truly tasted of His loving grace and mercy, we can render nothing less than to be a mere channel for His love to flow through. Your heart and mind are in a marvelous place good friend, may many enjoy the fruits of your labors.

Thank you so much again. I truly appreciate your supportive comments as I walk this path of speaking the truths that I have learned through my experiences in life and what God has taught me. I am not a pastor and I am not a counselor… but I speak from my heart and pray that none will ever be broken as I was and every person will open their hearts to God for He is the Key to everything!!
Thanks again and blessings to you!
