Your Word For Today… God is Always With Us!

YourWordForTodayBased on Deuteronomy 31:6

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

The children of Israel were about to enter the promised land without their leader Moses. Moses was passing the mantle of leadership on to Joshua (meaning Salvation) who would lead them before the Lord. The children of Israel were feeling uneasy, nervous and fearful for the unknowns that were ahead of them.

The fear of the unknown has a way of just griping our insides and causing all kinds of turmoil within our hearts and our stomachs for that matter. Fear is a strong emotion that can either help us to be sharp and act dissively or cause us to withdraw and shrink in thface of danger and not complete our God given mission.

The Lord needed His people to remember all that He had done for them, and to be willing to “trust” in Him, that He would not fail them now. The Lord understood their being uncomfortable with what He was going to ask them to do. It was time to get out of their comfort zones and challenge themselves with a new leader and a new adventure. Yes they would have to challenge their fear and hesitation with faith and trust in the God who delivered their relatives from Egypt and from the unknown dangerous of the wilderness.

The set and appointed time to come out of the wilderness after 40 years had come and God would go before them. All they had to do is follow Him and do what He asked of them. He made it rather simple intellectually for them, however, emotionally it would be a different story:

The To Do List For The Children of Israel

  1. Be strong and courageous!
  2. Do not be afraid
  3. Do not panic before them

How could they do the above?

For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Its been said, “that where God guides He provides.” The scriptures also tell us that He never gives us more than we can handle. 1 Corinthians 10:13 provides a clear picture of this:

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

So, the next time you feel uneasy or fearful about something God is asking you to do, harken back to the Children of Israel and the challenge God put before them. God asked them to enter a hostile land where they had enemies on every side but, He didn’t expect them to go it alone! God doesn’t expect you to go it alone either. God will be with you and within you through His Holty Spirit and He will never leave you or abandon you. God is with us always.

I’d recommend that you put the scripture in 1 Coritnians 10 to memory because it will help to get you through challenging life issues that are sure to come.

God bless you in your quest to serve the Lord our God who loves us with an unending and unfailing love!

Remember, the Lord loves us more than any of us will ever know. After all, He died and shed His blood for us and held nothing back!

‘But if the  watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and  the people are  not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from  them, he is taken away in  his iniquity; but   his    blood I will require  from the watchman’s hand.’  Ezekiel 33:6

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should   overtake    you as a  thief.  You   are    all sons of light and sons of   the day. We are not of  the night nor of  darkness. Therefore let  us  not sleep,  as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 1Thessalonians 5:1-6

“My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD. Because they lead my people astray, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace …”  Ezekiel 13:9-10
