What is this coming up from the wilderness
Like columns of smoke,
Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense,
With all scented powders of the merchant?
Behold, it is the traveling couch of Solomon;
Sixty mighty men around it,
Of the mighty men of Israel.
All of them are wielders of the sword,
Expert in war;
Each man has his sword at his side,
Guarding against the terrors of the night.
Song of Songs 3:6-8
If you remember our maiden had been afraid to go off with her Shepherd King into the ministry He prepared for her, so she told Him to go on without her. (2:17) Once He left her she was love-sick over her decision until their reunification. When she was back in His arms, He did not chide her. He did not come back with strong rebuke.
Today we will see that He is going to take that trepidation she had deep inside and blow it out of the water.
There was a tiny question in her heart.
Can I trust Him with everything?
But the loving Lord does not rebuke the asking of this question.
Not at all.
Instead, He answers it.
But His answer is not some “don’t worry dear one” pat on the hand. It is an army sent for one purpose, to demonstrate His ability to protect her when she is in the center of His will.
And there it is.
She – is you. (yes you, Ben)
God is not angry that you are nervous about stepping out of that comfort zone.
He is head over heels in love with you, and is going to make it so obvious to you that He can care for you. Once you see how the Lord has provided for your protection and care, there is only one thing left to do; Follow Him.
Is the Lord calling you to a take a step into what seems like the unknown to you today?
Understand this. He has an army made up of skilled men, warriors, armed and dangerous, and assigned to protect and defend you. They are experts in war and ready to do battle. These are God’s own mighty men ready to stand by your side. Remember, one of His most common names in scripture is “the Lord of Hosts” or as the Message Bible puts it “Lord of the angel armies.”
This day Jesus, our Shepherd King, is calling you to rise up, and come with Him, and His word to you is “Trust in Me.” [Tweet This]
See you again soon.
