How many times do we rush to do things, or to accomplish certain goals that we have set for ourselves?
How many times do we ignore warning signs of things that we should not do?
How many times do we ignore warning signs of people that we should probably not be around?
How many times have we made wrong decisions in our lives because others are doing it and we want to “fit in”.
How many of us have had bad marriages, because we fell for the first person to say something nice to us?
How many of us have made decisions that we will regret for many, many years?
Most of us have preset notions in our minds that we have to reach a certain expectation or we have failed…
We have set these expectations ourselves to be reached by a certain time…because that is what others are doing;
But unfortunately, these others may have chosen a wrong path too.
So, what should we do???
One of the biggest mistakes that I made was not realizing that God has your entire life planned out for you, including your future spouse. He orchestrates the lives of people who are willing to be led by Him. He has given us a free choice so we can allow Him to orchestrate our lives or we can choose to orchestrate our own paths. And even though we may have made a wrong decision to begin with, God can change our situations if we give it to Him. You see, God will not take anything from you… you have to willingly give it to God… including your own heart. And that is another big mistake that we make. We may pray and cry and ask God to fix a mistake that we made, but we are still holding on or asking Him to fix it the way we want it fixed… We have to be willing to let go and let God do it..
So, again, what should we do???
We need to wait on the Lord. I can tell you that I had made such mistakes that I wait on the Lord to guide my every step. I thank God that He touched my children’s hearts. You see, I have learned that every time a heart gets hurt or wounded or broken, even with “young teenage love”, then God has to heal that wound so the person can be whole for the person that God has planned for them. So, we wait on the Lord and walk in obedience for every step that we take… We all have wounds that needed to be healed and we prayerfully wait with an expectation for our futures…

Prayer: Lord, I pray that Your words, “Be still and know that I am God” will be etched in the hearts of many of Your children. I pray that we will learn to seek Your guidance and wait on You before we make careless decisions. I know that Your timing is not our timing but we trust You to provide for us and protect us as we wait on You to orchestrate our lives… in Jesus’ name. Amen.
