The AWESOME God we serve

This morning before I read my devotional for the day I asked God to show Himself and His desire for me in my quiet time. “Please speak to me today, Father.”

I opened Jesus Calling for today and this is what it said:
When you are plagued by a persistent problem—one that goes on and on—view it as a rich opportunity. An ongoing problem is like a tutor who is always by your side. The learning possibilities are limited only by your willingness to be teachable. In faith, thank Me for your problem. Ask Me to open your eyes and your heart to all that I am accomplishing through this difficulty. Once you have become grateful for a problem, it loses its power to drag you down. On the contrary, your thankful attitude will lift you up into heavenly places with Me. From this perspective, your difficulty can be seen as a slight, temporary distress that is producing for you a tremendous Glory never to cease! December 18, Jesus Calling 2013.

I was awed. I just sat there and read it again. and again. and again. I was going to end this email with the question, “Can you believe it?” But I know you can. The same God that is touching me profoundly and continually with His grace is the same God you love and serve.

The moment I read this I knew I had to share this wonderful God moment with you.

May God richly bless you today as He did me first thing this morning.

In the Precious Name of Jesus

Steve

About Steve Sawyer

God blessed me with the gift of writing. Mom told me I wrote paragraphs in second grade when others were learning to write sentences. I spent more than three decades in professional writing gigs. For the past eight years I've combined my passion for writing with my love for the Lord. He and I write a Christ-centered, family-friendly blog to glorify God Monday-thru Friday at https://stevensawyer.wordpress.com/. My wife and I have four grown children and two precious granddaughters we co-parent with their mom. I'm a Galatians 2:20 disciple of Christ seeking to allow Christ to live His life in me, through me, and as me.

Indeed I am plagued by the problem of being a one-eyed Jill, three weeks after an operation for a macular hole in my left eye. Thanks for the reminder Steve, that He will always be by my side and I am limited only by my willingness to be teachable in faith. I have asked God to open my eyes and heart to all He is accomplishing in my difficulty as I await His full healing in my eye, in His time. Praise the Lord.

May His healing be completed in you too, Steve, in His time.
