The Walking Wounded was written to help victims of abuse find strength and hope in a hopeless situation. As a former victim, I have written this book as Secret Angel, representing the many nameless and faceless victims of abuse. No one can understand that feeling of being trapped and that feeling of hopelessness–unless they have lived it. Many people cannot understand how this can happen, but victims never choose to be abused. They never want to be victims. They never want to live in fear. Through my book, many readers will be able to understand more about abuse and its victims. The Walking Wounded will encourage the many other “nameless and faceless” victims of abuse to find the strength to reach for their freedom and to overcome the abuses of their pasts.
