Goodbye 2013 – He provided and protected me

Good bye signifies happy  finality to a year of change, pain and bouts of fatigue. It could not have  been completed  without The Lord. This is not a personal boast but a record for posterity, and a boast that The Lord was with me and saw me through a very difficult year. Praise the Lord

One –  I had to dis pose of my old faithful  green ten year Nissan March when  its certificate of entitlement (COE) expired in April 2013, and  it was not realistic to extend its life due to its ridiculously high price. A dark blue Opel Corsa in  August was a replacement at a reasonable price and condition, hopefully to last  for as long as I can drive safely. There was a mishap in November  2013 , when I burst my right front tire without knowing or hearing the explosion ( whilst temporarily deaf in right ear and physically unwell)  as I dangerously jumped a high curb and burst the tire  on landing. Thank God for journey mercies and protection from self and others. Thank God no one was injured and no expensive carpark property was damaged.  It was a warning not to drive when physically feeling unwell.

Renovation

Two -there were two needful renovations for me this year (August and November), most unprecedented in my long life! The first, my apartment which had remained tenanted to the same person for over 10 years with minimal maintenance work, had to be  renovated for good rental and replacement of worn down equipment and paint. The  second renovation was to our home kitchen which had been invaded by termites and had been under terminator treatment for two years. All the cabinets were replaced with treated anti-termite cupboards and door frames. The only consolation for the repairs this year is that it is cheaper to renovate in 2013 than in 2014 when costs will just  keep rocketing and tax relief ceases effective 2014.

Three – spent a rollicking three weeks of tour to Greece and Turkey. The Apostle Paul never came to life for me  more than in those three weeks as our Reverend Dr Pastor took us through some locations related to Paul’s missionary journeys in Greece and Turkey.

There were several months of suffering from  lupus flares after the tour, because of sun hyper-sensitivity, but God reigns and He is taking care of it.  Praise the Lord! Then as the last month of the year reared its head,  a macular hole was discovered in my left eye. Timely attention by surgery on December 3,  followed by weeks on my face, and God’s healing is taking care of that. Very thankful to God for specialist and medical staff and facilities available in Singapore and for those who from round the  g lobe prayyed for me.

Thank God for His hand of provision (for medical and dental once after celebrating Singapore’s National Day one night upon returning home and once at a hotel in Cappadocia, and  there were no broken bones!

What a  year!  as the Lord  went before me and kept me  close to Him. In His Presence is joy and peace , love and care and yes,  I experienced all.

As I await his deliverance from this partial blindness, I am glad HE WAS WITH ME   ALL THROUGH THE SEASONS OF MY LIFE IN 2013 and will be in 2014
