HE LIFTS US UP: Look to the Future, Not the Past (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Glazing at a reflection…
like looking into glass.
Realizing the rejection…
of things that didn’t last.
Anticipating the projection…
of the future, not the past.

We all go through things in life that have hurt us.  But we need to let go and look towards our future. We can’t move forward if we are holding onto our past…. and only God knows what He has in store for us in our future.

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) says…

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”

Jeremiah 29:11 says…

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Dear Lord, help us to hold onto You, not man nor this world, for You will never fail us nor forsake us, and You always have the best plans for us and our futures. Heal the wounds of our pasts, bringing restoration as we walk into our futures with You… in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  4. People Empowerment Project says:

Portals of blessing; doors to the future; windows of opportunity; found one day, one key relationship at a time. Fear not what you know not; Trust not sandy foundations; Endorse not what leads to trials, for you or for others; Knock and the door will be opened unto you, IF it is His best plan for you; Seek and you will find; Ask and you will receive, but be careful what you ask for. You just may receive it. And of those whom much is given, much is expected in return.
