The Bible’s Greatest Mystery and Miracle – John 1:14 – Inspirational Bible Verses
BY DARRELL CRESWELL
The Word became flesh dwelt among us John 1 14
There are many great events and miracles that take place in the Bible. There is the creation of the earth and all the universe – definitely a great event. There are recorded miracles of the dead rising and living again. There are miracles recorded where the lame walk and the blind see. We see great events and miracles where men are not consumed by fire, water is turned to wine, humans walk on water, healings, and fire from heaven etc.
But the greatest miracle that ever occurred was without any pomp and circumstance. It occurred in an obscure location, amidst a privileged few, where a baby was born to a virgin as God became flesh and dwelt among us. The incarnation of God stands alone as the greatest miracle that ever occurred. The highest God was born in the lowest place assuming the form that He would redeem.
The birth of the universe pales in comparison to the incarnate birth of Christ. He who gave light and life to the world, gave eternal life and light to mankind as he was born unheralded in a manger. In this birth lies the greatest mystery of all, that God could humble himself in love to be born as a child in order to redeem all of humanity. This event recorded in the pages of time forever rewrote the future for each and every one of us, each word being penned with the blood that was shed to ransom a lost and dying world.
As we learn of the miracles of men being saved from the mouth of lions, and a morsel of bread and fish feeding a hungry crowd of 5,000, let us learn of the mercy of God miraculously loving mankind in such a manner that He would suffer long and hard that He might be able to rescue us from a certain death in sin.
Christ, in whom there is no beginning and no end, took a page out of time to begin a work as a baby in Bethlehem that He would finish in His appointed time as a man upon the cross. The holy miracle of Jesus’ birth sets Him apart from the rest of humanity. The divine delivery is unparalleled as God transformed the laws of nature, showing us how far He was willing to go to redeem us.
Christ Jesus became flesh and lived among us John 1:14 – There is no greater miracle. In this we must REJOICE. \o/
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
