HE LIFTS US UP: A Song of Deception… A Stranger in My House

These words about deception ring in my spirit today as I was asked, “How do you know if someone really wants to change and save a marriage.” My response was, only God knows the truth. Seek Him and He will let you know as you draw near to Him…

As these days progress, more and more deception is coming our way. “Be not deceived” was a warning from God. The only way to not be deceived, is the Spirit of Truth within you…so reach for the Lord for He sent His Holy Spirit to be our Guide… I pray that hearts will be opened to receive His warning….

When we were young, so innocent and pure,
I thought our love would forever endure.
I totally trusted and in him believed.
Never expecting to be totally deceived.

Then I was broken, and tossed away.
A victim of lies, and deceit his way.
He said the loved me, but lied for years.
Holding me close and calling me dear.

So wounded….and broken indeed.
My heart… ripped out, it seemed.
Destroyed… by deceptive deeds.
A stranger… in my house to me.

When I was happy, or so it seemed,
I looked to him, to my man to please.
Totally ignoring, the Lord and His deeds.
And living this life by its meager means.

But I was abused and emotionally beat.
Trying to please him was a useless feat.
Never expecting that he was living a lie.
Using me up and wanting me to die.

So wounded….and broken indeed.
My heart… ripped out, it seems.
Destroyed… by deceptive deeds.
A stranger… in my house to me.

He lived a lie, pretending to care.
And used me up, like a working mare.
Always wanting, but never pleased.
Biding his time for his planned release.

He said he waited for that certain day,
When he was ready, to be on his way.
Never suspecting that he didn’t love me,
totally fooled by his deceptive deeds.

So wounded….and broken indeed.
My heart… ripped out, it seems.
Destroyed… by deceptive deeds.
A stranger… in my house to me.

But when I was broken, and tossed away,
I cried to God,”Help Me”, I pray.
I need You now, more than before!
Please help me now, I need you more!

Forgive me Lord, for looking towards man
When you were there and reaching a Hand.
For I would never have been so deceived,
with Your Spirit in me, this I believe.

So wounded….and broken indeed.
My heart… ripped out, it seems.
Destroyed… by deceptive deeds.
A stranger… in my house to me.

GALATIANS 6:7… “BE NOT DECEIVED”

Dear Lord, I ask that You open eyes to see and ears to hear as You touch a multitude of hearts of Your children, turning them to You. Bless each with wisdom and discernment to guard against deception. Teach them to seek You everyday, not just when hurt and wounded, so that they will no longer be deceived and hurt by the world. Guide their paths and orchestrate their lives. Bring healing and restoration to the wounded and to entire families with a mighty move of Your Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Reblogged this on The Abuse Expose' with Secret Angel and commented:

Many of us have dealt with deception in our relationships including adultery, pornography, and all of the abuses that are hidden behind closed doors. But God is not deceived. He sees it all…

  3. You always share a powerful message …May our Lord Jesus continue to bless you! Have a blessed day my dear friend!

The Lord sent forth his disciples with the warning that they need to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. We need this attitude for every aspect of our lives – in the home, at work, in ministry. Let us pray for wisdom and discernment not only for our own protection, but also for our families ( in homes n churches) and that we would not be fools to play around with the works of darkness. Often we miss the blessings of God because of tomfoolery The Lord has warned us against in His Word – and we wonder why.

Thank you so much. You are so right! I felt that I missed so much growing up in a home that did not read the Bible. But I praise God that He has turned the hearts of me and my children to Him and look forward to the assignment that He has for us now. I pray for wisdom and discernment and all Spiritual giftings as we walk this path with the Lord into our futures.

Thanks for sharing; evidently experience is the best teacher apart from God’s Holy Spirit. May He continue to heal all the wounds and renew you for greater works. W

Wendell, I can not thank you enough for your words of encouragement. I thank God for what He has done for me and that He gives me these words. I pray that these messages touch hearts just as I pray that my book will touch the hearts of many. I would love for you to read it and let me know what you think. Thanks again for your support and may God bless you exceedingly and abundantly.
