How has the week been for you?
Have you identified someone who is abused?
Have you prayed for someone?
Have you told someone that you are there for them?
Have you lent a listening ear?
The following is not to boast but to set an encouraging example to all who have indicated their support to Stop Abuse. We can accomplish our mission with the Lord’s help. A little is much when God is in it.. This has been my experience so far:
I began with prayer for without God we can do nothing.
“Lord please help me. Show me what to do to stop abuse.”
I need to get more information on abuse and its ramifications.
What better way than to get a copy of the Walking Wounded?
I purchased an e-mail copy and read it.
I was touched by what SecretAngel shared in her book Walking Wounded from the first person perspective. I saw it was a deep spiral down in abuse and how she did not know it was time to get out as long as she had the flickering hope that her abuser would change. The truth is unless the abuser saw the need to change there would be no change. What a sad and most hopeless situation for the abused.
Get a copy of the Walking Wounded and read it! I caught the vision and the need to stop abuse!
I continued praying, Lord help me identify someone who has been abused or lead me to seize any opportunity to share the vision – enlist someone in the fight.
I shared the burden to stop abuse with my Women’s Ministry Committee – 7 persons and we prayed.
I sent each member a e-book of the Walking Wounded. Praying they will catch the vision. Also asked them to ask the Lord to open their eyes perchance there is any abused in our congregation.
Update – potential abused has been identified and we shall meet for prayer and to listen.
We had a guest speaker on Sunday. He is pioneering a church. I briefly asked if I could send him information on Stopping Abuse and what we are doing on ChristianBlessings. That night I shared by email our Stop Abuse campaign and referenced our Stop Abuse blogs.
Guest Pastor responded if he could share with his leadership team. I followed up with an e-book copy of Walking Wounded.
He responded can he send the book to members of leadership team.
They will pray if they should include Stop Abuse as a ministry in their new church.
Today I sent an ebook to another Pastor. She is praying for the Lord’s leading.
In summary, where I could not speak, I sent Walking Wounded and prayed.
You can do the same – take that first step in prayer and purpose to not remain a hearer and get going as He opens up the opportunities – in church, a neighbor, a relative, a friend, a colleague, an associate, just a stranger? Look for the opportunity and you will find. May the Lord bless you as He has blessed me!
In total I have purchased 20 copies of Walking Wounded e- book to kick-off my effort to Stop Abuse and more than half have been given away.
Have you purchased your copy of the Walking Wounded ? That could be the start of a new insight and purpose in your service to The Lord as was my case.
