            salm Comfort promises God
Psalm 119:50 This is what comforts me in my trouble, for your promise revives me.The word here for comfort in Hebrew is Nekhamah, also used in Elohei khol-Nechamah, GOD of all Comfort. The word used here for comfort describes a reassurance that nothing and no one else can satisfy but God.We are all beset by burdens that oppress us from time to time. Small annoyances can turn into wounds that agonize and torment our hearts and spirits. It is in those moments of distress that we must allow ourselves to find new life in God’s promises. There is not one among us that is without heartache and affliction, inward or outward. God has made numerous promises in His Word regarding the pain that we will face in life. One thing that I have learned about promises in the human realm, they are made to be broken – but such is not the case with God.
I have not been able to keep every promise that I have made in life. At times I have forgotten what I had promised, and other times circumstances were beyond my control and I was not able to keep what I had promised.God never forgets what He has promised and has written them in His Word so that we might be comforted by them. Our circumstances are never beyond His capacity to control them so He is able to keep what He has promised to each and every one of us. There are over 7,000 promises in the Bible, and we can rest assured that God is faithful to keep them. Listed below are a few that you can take to heart in your times of need.

2 Corinthians 1:19 – 20 tells us that God is faithful. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No. He always does what He says. All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes! All of God’s promises are “YES in Christ Jesus. So when hard times beset you, do you believe the storm around you, or do you believe the Word of God? In Christ, you don’t have to summon up the courage to face your future, as God has already done that for you.

God has plans for your future: Jeremiah 29:11 – I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God will supply all your needs: Philippians 4:19 – God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

God will be with you and protect you: Isaiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be close to you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.

God’s love will never leave you: Isaiah 54:10 – Though the mountains vanish, My unending love with never leave you.

God will listen to you: 1 John 5:14 – This is the boldness which we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to his will, He listens to us.

God promises you eternal life: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. God’s promises are an ironclad contract to bless our lives.

The promises of God are not based on what we do or don’t do. They are given to us because of God’s desire to bring blessings and comfort in our lives. God’s promises are an ironclad contract that cannot be broken. All God’s promises are fulfilled in Christ who by His sacrifice has made us right with God.

  1. ptl2010 says:

When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of God will raise a standard against him!” (Isaiah 59:19) Praise God, He does not leave us but leads in the fight against the enemy. What a comfort.
