You word tells us to call on you and that you will hear us, God.  (Jeremiah 33:3)

So Hear my voice when I call, Lord, be merciful to me and answer me… (Psalm 27) as you have promised, the prayer of a righteous man avails much.  (James 5:16).  I know that I am not righteous in your sight Lord, but I claim your Son, Jesus Christ as my Saviour. (Romans 10:9).  So see me through His righteous filter and know the despair of my heart.  Lord, you promise to bind up the wounds of the broken – hearted (Psalm 147:3) and send a balm for our crushed spirits. (Psalm 34:18). You advise that you will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Lord, you are faithful and will strengthen me and my loved ones and protect us from the evil ones plans. (2 Thessalonians 3:3).  

I know that all things are sifted through your fingers, and tribulations can come in all sizes. 

Abba, if it matters to us, it matters to you – so Lord I am praying for peace in your presence for those around me who are hurting…from physical and mental illness, from advanced age, from loss through death, from tragedy, from loneliness, from stress, from sadness, from disappointment.  As your hand calmed the storm that rocked the boats on the Sea of Galilee, I pray you will reprieve the storms of our lives and give us the faith to walk on unsteady pathways.  

Your Word reminds us that there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.  Luke 8:17

As followers of you God, it is often very hard to understand why bad things happen. People will disappoint, life’s situations can overwhelm – but you Lord promise us in your 23^rd Psalm that you will walk with us through the shadows – and that we can trust that we will ultimately end up in verdant pastures and resting by still waters. I praise you and thank you that You are a God we all can run to and hide in the shelter of your wings. When we seek your face, we will find ultimately peace in all circumstances.  

Thank you for Hearing my call Lord. Send your mercy and grace and still whispering into the hearts of the hurting and troubled.
