Playing games with God and sin? Who are you kidding?

As a holiness preacher I often see and meet many people who “toy” with God. What I mean is I meet people that call themselves Christians (ministers included) that play with sin like a cat plays with a mouse. They seem to find pleasure in it. They try to go through life “claiming” Christianity and living like the Devil. They teach people that you cannot experience a clean heart or life of holiness in the eyes of God in this life. Who are they really kidding? “Trust me they are not kidding God”. The blood of Jesus Christ doesn’t cover man’s future sins.

Granted, some of this mindset is based on preachers telling people that its ok to sin or live a life disobedience to God and they are still covered in the blood of Christ. Some of this mindset is just lived out by high-minded people that “imagine” they can have the best of both worlds as they toy with God going to Church on Sunday, reading God’s Word, praying, lifting hands in worship and still living like a Devil through the week.

Let me inform you of this one thing right now, “Playing games with God is a very dangerous situation. Living in and out of sin is very dangereous situation. Toying with other people’s Salvation to justify your own rotten filthy meaness is not overlooked in the eyes of God. So, who are you kidding?” Yes, I see it. So will you if you’re truely honest with God. Don’t play games with the God of your Salvation! Don’t play games with sin! If you claim Christ walk in the Spirit. If you (by the Grace of God) haven’t denounced the wrongdoing in your life don’t claim to be a child of God because you’re not kidding God. You may have yourself convinced but your can’t convince God that this is what Christianity is all about. Salvation forgives and morally changes man into what he ought to be. Salvation by Grace makes men right and they won’t ever want to offend God for those things they are now ashamed of. Genuine Salvation of the soul will cut off all game playing and make you serious enough to walk the walk and talk the talk. Glorify the name of Christ! That’s Christianity!

Don’t play games with God. Don’t play games with sin. Get serious! You can’t kid God! Be faithful to Him! Sinning religion doesn’t work! Part time belief and trust won’t work either! Experience the power of God’s saving Grace…that’s found only in the power and person of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  1. ptl2010 says:

    Psalm 139 (New International Version, ©2010)
    For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
    1 You have searched me, LORD,
    and you know me.
    2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
    3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
    4 Before a word is on my tongue
    you, LORD, know it completely.
    5 You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
    6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
    8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
    9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
    10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
    11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
    12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

    There is a chorus little children sing

    He sees what you do
    And He hears what you say
    My Lord is watching all the time, time, time
    He sees what you do
    And He hears what you say
    May Lord is watching all the time.
