Chapter 12 Words: Invisible Movers in the Spirit World of Yahweh
“The words I speak, they are spirit and they are life…”
Words play an extremely important role in the life and growth of the sons and daughters of God. They are told to look on the invisible, and words are just that. They are intangible, difficult to put your fingers on. Words are often spoken, but they don’t have to be. They can be formulations of the mind, the building blocks of thought. They do not have to be heard by the earthly ear.
The Master was speaking some words about Himself in John 6:47. He was telling them that those who believe on Him have everlasting life. Those who believe the words that He was speaking about Himself, they are the ones who will obtain immortality. “I am the bread of life…And the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
The Flesh Profits Nothing
Later, after they had murmured at this statement, He said, “It is the spirit that makes alive; the flesh profits nothing.” He, in so many words was saying to them, You think that I am telling you that you should literally eat my earthly fleshly body. No. You are to ingest spiritually into your belief system the things I tell you about my body and blood. “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.” It is the word about His flesh that gives us eternal life; it is the word about His blood, and what He does for us through it, that matters.
He goes on in John’s account and tells them that He is that bread that has come down from heaven that brings eternal life to the world. They grumbled and said to Him, “How can you have come down from heaven?” Of course, they were only looking at His body of flesh when they asked that.
But it is the spirit of the thing. The words said about His flesh is what counts. It is the invisible actions that God does concerning the sacrificed flesh of the Lamb of God—that word is spirit and is invisible and has a great effect on man—if man believes it!
Man must believe in the word that God has spoken about the “bread from heaven”—the flesh of the Lamb of God. That is what makes alive. Believing His words and what His apostles wrote about Him is what will grant us everlasting immortality with Him. Believing the word about His set-apart fleshly sacrificial body and what He says it will accomplish—that will give life to believers. It is not just the flesh itself.
Words are spirit and are invisible
Rather, it is the invisible spiritual power invested in the sacrifice of the Lamb, the power that God said about that flesh and blood—that is what will make us alive! The word about the Savior, the Master, the One, the invisible Spirit/Father sent from heaven—that word is spirit, is action, and is invisible, and is powerful.
Words are spirit. And a spirit is invisible. Words, therefore, are invisible. The words that God has spoken to us are what moves things in the invisible spirit-kingdom of Yah. The words of God invisibly accomplish His will. The invisible words of the Spirit portray His power in this invisible Spirit Kingdom. It is the word of faith. It is the believing of His invisible words that bring life and immortality. It is faith in His invisible words of Spirit that shows forth who He is and the nature of His invisible spiritual kingdom.
His word is invisible. His word is spirit. Only by faith, which is believing the Invisible One’s words, can one please God and enter into His invisible spiritual kingdom. Words are invisible. Words are spirit (“the words I speak, they are spirit and they are life”). And the Invisible Word made Himself known in human flesh. The eternal Word, which is Spirit, yes, was invisible to the masses as He moved around upon this earth, speaking about His Invisible Spirit Kingdom. Because they could not see the Spirit/Word within His human body, they rejected Him.
And herein lies the danger of only looking on the outward earthly things that can only be experienced by the five senses. We humans will miss Him, the Invisible One, as He makes His last manifestation of His Invisible Spirit here on earth.
We must look to the Spirit. Look to the things not seen. Look to the Word, which is Spirit and truth and is no lie. Words are spirit, and His words spoken and believed on by us, having not seen the Original Speaker, will show His resurrection power, and will give a testimony of Him in these latter days.
