Face bowed low, head in hand, she prayed aloud and took her stand
The early dawn was dark and cold, she stayed bent down, her words were bold
Her spirit travelled across the world, she gathered hearts for her to hold
Some known to her others not, she made her pleas her tears ran hot
Face bowed low, head in hand, she prayed aloud and took her stand
She rebuked the darkness, called in the light, only God could heal it in His Might
She claimed promises of the Saviour King, to Him alone in praise she’ll sing
Stood in the gap as the Spirit led her, in petition and prayer the world He’d better
Face bowed low, head in hand, she prayed aloud and took her stand
The scriptures say repent and know, God will cleanse those who bend low
She pleaded with Him to renew her land, and call back His people, numbered as the sand
When she was spent in all her prayers, she laid down her head and breathed fresh air
His face shone bright, her head in His hand, so proud he was, she took a stand
He wiped away her bold hot tears, and gently dismissed her broken fears
Well done my child your prayers are heard, I know the depth, your heart disturbed
That you would carry the pain of others, and pray so mighty for sister and brother
Hold up your head, look at my hands and touch the marks on the Son of Man
It is for all I suffered, I took the blows. The cost was high, of this I know
Now peace my child, peace be still, I conquered death upon that hill
Your prayers are gold the Father smiles, now peace my child, rest here awhile.
