A vision of abuse…
flashed in my mind today.
As I read a post…
of a word I repeatedly say.
I saw it clearly…
like I was standing there.
Drawing within myself…
as angry words flew through the air.
“I’m sorry!!! I’m so sorry!!!”
Are the words that many repeat…
As they hover in a corner…
with angry words of defeat.
For angry words are like knives…
stabbing in the heart.
But though quickly spoken…
their wounds don’t depart.
So as a puppy cowards…
as a child yells at it.
And a child hides…
as a parent threatens to hit.
And a wife shrinks away…
from a threat of violence.
And an employee suffers…
workplace abuse in silence…
All of these abuses…
cause victims to say that word.
As they try to calm the anger…
that only the abuser and victim heard.
And though they’ve done nothing wrong…
“I’m sorry” comes out all the same.
For they have suffered these abuses…
with all the fear and shame.
So they immediately say ‘sorry”…
always trying to bring peace.
Cause they have suffered the abuse…
and dread when that anger’s released.
“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!”
are words that victims of abuse say.
So Lord, heal all our wounds…
so we will no longer respond that way.

Dear Lord, only You see the wounds deep within our hearts and souls that cause us to repeatedly apologize for things that we did not do or say. You know those who want “Peace” and try to being peaceful resolution to all conflicts. Heal our wounds and give us all the boldness to stand firm in truth and righteousness. Deliver us from the oppression that has held us in bondage in our pasts and help us to overcome all obstacles so that we can walk victoriously into our futures… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Praying with you for all those who repeatedly find themselves apologizing to avoid the abuse that may come next. God knows every one of them…He Loves each one as His own…He made each of us….He knows each heart…
Amen!! I stand with you in prayer! God bless you, my Sister Angel.
