This is a message for someone who is struggling with depression. These words came to me that I will share. I totally understand how you feel… cause I have definitely been there!!!

Clothed in darkness…
feeling your life is a mess.
Surrounded by brokenness…
and intense feelings of distress.
Looking around you…
feeling your world has fallen apart.
Knowing you have to continue…
but the darkness just won’t depart.
And this cloak of darkness covers you…
with feelings of smothering at best.
But how can you remove it…
like clothing you’d just undress.
I know just how you feel…
for I have surely been there.
It’s a darkness you can’t escape…
with no Light visible anywhere.
  So just feel for any glimmer of hope…
for any tiny flicker of Light.
Because clothed in this darkness…
you can’t even trust your sight.
It is then that you feel…
with every sense of your being.
As you cry out to God…
to rescue and bring healing.
For He can touch you in ways…
that you know that He is there.
And though you can’t get free…
your darkness He will share.
For like a cocoon…
totally encased and enclosed.
It is only when it breaks open…
that God’s plan is fully exposed.
He is with you in your darkness…
when you are totally blinded in sight.
But as you trust Him with your future…
He will one day clothe you with His Light.

Dear Lord, only You know the multitude that are struggling with depression with various levels of darkness surrounding their lives. You know who is feeling the  hopelessness of their situations and the pain of brokenness. Bring healing from the wounds of their pasts and deliverance from the darkness that consumes them. Open their eyes to see Your Light shining in their darkness and their hearts to walk into new levels of faith with You… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
