There are many who have been told, “If we confess Christ we are Christians”. That statement is only partially true. If we believe in the redemptive work of Christ as foretold by the Prophets, we find a God-given righteousness in the heart and soul. After redemption takes place all sins of the past life are forgiven by God. Forgiveness of sin is found and experienced. Christians are the product of Salvation of the human soul that takes place through trusting in a Savior’s love for fallen man. Sin stains are washed away. Righteousness flows in and confession of Christ is made with the mouth. Believers experience a moral change and witness from God. A moral change that causes them speak about Christ who forgives and pardons. It’s hard to keep the mouth shut for Christ after the Spirit life comes in. Confession is thus made unto Salvation.
Romans 10:10…For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation
