Starting Small

Good things come in small packages.

Jesus Christ came as a baby and before his first human breath, was meant to be God’s goodness to mankind as Savior of sinners.

Have you experienced His goodness? It is your choice to accept/deny His good offer of life for your eternity.
If you have not accepted His offer of love, why not begin today?

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.
(Zechariah 4:10)

Read: Zechariah 4:1-5:11, Revelation 14:1-20, Psalm 142:1-7, Proverbs 30:21-23

Relate: Small beginnings. Zechariah is talking about the beginning of the rebuilding of the Temple when God makes that prophesy through him. Those old enough were able to remember the former Temple. Those too young to remember heard stories that were the foundation of legend and hope. It seems that legend and hope are always bigger than the reality when it comes. The waited for reality just doesn’t seem to match up.

For a devout Jew in Zechariah’s time, as well as every generation for the next few centuries, there was no bigger legend, no bigger hope, than the coming Messiah.
