Jesus, faithful keeper of my soul
Untiring finisher of my faith
Deliver me now as reason’s fool
As one who waits at heavens gate
With naught to give but penitence,
For witless sins of circumstance
I look upon what your death brought
And fully countenance it’s awful truth
That thence I go but for you
With hope to own death’s lessons taught
Bring light to each dark-dawning day
That my faith alone brings sweet repay
It’s not my sin alone that you abhor
But that I failed to lead through heavens door
Failed to use my gifts that wait
That they too may find a desperate fate
Thus in promise, I surrender love
That in my witness You may see
A desire for change lies deep in me.
AMEN!
