Tomorrow, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good story. Brad Paisley
What will your story be in the coming year? None of us can know for sure what the next year will bring. But how we approach our story will have a great effect on what is written.
In this age of instant communication, real time news and the ability be in almost constant conmunication we tend to focus on what is wrong in our world. We are not naive the meat and potatoes of news reporting has always been the bad things that happen. Headlines in print media, social media, or online media rarely began with “just in, something great happened today.” With a steady diet of everything that’s wrong in the world we begin to lose our optimism and most importantly our hope. Our personal stories are greatly influenced by what’s going on around us.
I would encourage you (and this is also a message to myself) if there’s one New Year’s resolution you would make it would be this. Take time everyday to be thankful and grateful for the good things you have. Family, friends, a good job, a safe home, a future. Take time to celebrate the small things that make life good and when the bad that is in the world invades your space don’t be anxious discouraged or depressed instead pray. I recently heard a quote that when you’re anxious afraid or worried it’s a signal to pray.
And as your story is written over the next year, even though there may be things that are out of your control I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t have a good ending.
Wishing all of you a blessed and prosperous 2019.
