When you go through
Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Three times the word “through” is in this verse. It emphasizes that these times of testing are transitory and not permanent. I must have the mind-set that my experiences are not permanent but temporary. What must I do when I go through a temporary situation?
If I am going through some hard times in this season, I must remember that God is with me in the midst of it all. He’s totally at work though I might not see Him. I know it’s hard when I am in the middle of it, and I might not even understand what I am going through or why. But I am encouraged that God knows, and in due time, all will be revealed. In the meantime, I must not give up or get tired of doing good.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up,” Galatians 6:9.
If I need comfort, accept God’s comfort. If I need strength beyond myself, accept His strength. If I need wisdom, ask and the Bible promises that it will be given to me (James 1:5). As hard as the tests and trials may be, I must allow God to be God. Allow Him to do the supernatural work that only He can do. Allow Him to strengthen and increase my faith in this season of hardship or affliction.
