Special needs

Has the Lord brought me to a household to care for a special needs person? Or is there a special needs colleague? There is a special reason He has sent me here – I have been given the opportunity to show Jesus’ compassion to the lame, the deaf, the dumb, one who is mentally or emotionally or spiritually needy or disturbed. He wants me to show compassion, humility, love, patience, joy and mercy. Perhaps He wants to stretch my patience, to experience His strength when the burden gets too heavy, to sing a new song with the needy person and teach the joy of the Lord. These special needs people usually are given special gifts of sweetness in character, perfection skills and if autistic could possess gifts in the performing arts – singing and musical talent to paint, play an instrument or even to dance. Often those who bless the special needs person are blessed more than others as they observe the Lord’s wonder-working power in the life of the special needs person during ministry.

Lord, give me special patience and love and joy as I minister . May I be Your channel of blessing today. Amen.
