But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.…Galatians 5:22
I love you because I choose to and will always
I have joy in you, because of you and because our marriage is worth seeking it at all times
I will have forbearance (patience) because what we have built is worth all the hard work
I will be kind because God is kind to me and us, and it is His will that we are one
I will practice goodness because you do the same for me
I will troth my faithfulness because I cannot be anything else to you – to not keep my word would be to lie to my own soul
I will practice gentleness, which is sometimes hard, but a gentle word turns away wrath and therefore I would never want to be a source of pain for you
And I will strive to be self controlled – because to be a woman of discernment, a woman of faith, a woman who reflects love to the people who rightfully own all the “real estate” in my heart, I must always use my words, actions and emotions to effect positive in your and their life.
I offer my best to you – and only can accomplish this through the fruit of God’s spirit and my deep running commitment and passion for you and our marriage.
This is my promise.
