Knowledge vs Experience
My apartment faces a swimming pool to which many children come to free themselves of their day’s school and home pressures between 4 to 6.30pm. Those who have lived at the conndominium for some time have knowledge and experience of swimming. The newbies who have just arrived need to learn how to swim and them experience swimming. Many now swim and enjoy fun and games in the water. Others who are not so courageous and adventurous, either stay in the baby pool or just sit by the poolside, dangling their legs halfway in the water. Only those who plunge into the deep really enjoy water calisthenics and competitive races in the pool.
So it is with our spiritual lives. We must plunge into our faith and experience it’s reality. Only then can we say that we are enjoying “life more abundant.” It is when we dive into the Word and rest on His promises, trusting and obeying that we can expand our faith. In so doing we experience the miraculous and awesome God we love – His grace and mercy, His healing and protection, His ways are higher than our ways, He makes all things work together for our good. If you are not ejoying abundant life He promised, try believing more, trusting more and obeying more. With exercise and faith you will inevitably experience His abundant life as He gives liberally to all who ask of Him. Amen.
Wikipedai: The term “abundant life” comes from the Bible verse John 10:10b, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” “More abundantly” means to have a superabundance of a thing. “Abundant life” refers to life in its abounding fullness of joy and strength for spirit, soul and body.
