Accept good from others

There are many people who have been so used to give, till they do not know how to receive. from others. I had a meeting with my missionary mentor and she taught me a real life lesson. “Learn to accept the gifts people give to you.” It had been my practice to just give, give, give, be it to a missionary, to a poor person, friend or even a family member. She said I should learn to let others be blessed by giving too as I had been. That changed my perspective – now in addition to giving, I receive from others with thanksgiving to the giver and the Giver and we are all blessed. Try it, receive with thanks the gift of love, smile, or even a song from others who are prompted to do good.

Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

2 Corinthians 4: 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
