When My Days Are Nearly Over…

When my days are nearly over

When the last of wine is sipped

When ocean waves no longer seek me

When sun and moon eclipse

When songs we sing grow silent

When eyes grow dim not green

When the sweetness of your voice is whispered

When our history is what’s been

I will forget each trodden valley

And carry no regret

And hold fast to heart gladness

Your love for me begets

To have known exquisite joy and passion

Life lessons and the pain

To have walked through each and every forest

The deserts and the plains

To have cleaved our souls in union

We inheritors of God’s plan

2 hearts, one life – a family

Protected in His hand

I will count each measure of our breaths

The solid beatings in our hearts

And be greatful for the gift of us

Unto death ne’re will I part

When my days are nearly over

When I slip life’s golden strings

When words no longer matter

My soul for you still sings

About setyourpathsstraight

It is my desire to serve God and others through writing; by proclaiming His goodness, provision and character in story form. Though I was not always a follower of Jesus Christ, I have experienced life changes that can only be a result of personally meeting Him. He is not a God of religion, but of relationship. I don't have the answers to life's challenges, but I know where to find them...only in God's Word can any of us stop following crooked paths. The month of my spiritual birthday, I read Proverbs 3:5-6 and claimed it as my life verse... "Trust in the Lord in all you do, lean not on your own understanding In all your ways acknowledge Him.... and He will Set Your Paths Straight." Thank you for your visit today. Please come back again.

Wonderful words of encouragement, thank you so much. Such is life from a baby to senior !
We must take the difficult with the good and be thankful for what God has provided for us !
Life is a journey, ever changing and with it the finality of life will come. May the Lord find us faithful to the very end.
