Fear of man

Proverbs 29:25
“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”

There are many bosses who are unscrupulous and shady in their work practices. Do you work for one of these? Someone who would cut corners just to make more profit, tell a lie to get out of a sticky situation, give less in weight than specified, or even have rubber time for work hours. Those who work for such bosses often live in fear of man, the boss. His standards are flexible and you are expected to be so, just do not be caught red-handed. You are expected to do certain things during office hours and you may do other things outside of office or official hours. Do not be ensared or trapped. You must ask the Lord to give you wisdom to set your standards according to His Word and trust Him to keep you safe. Fear may cause you to be a nervous wreck if you are dependent on the uncertain job in hand. However, remember that your sins will find you out and with that thought you may live in the fear of when you will be found out and punished.

The annual work appraisal is most fearful if you are unsure that you have complied with the bosses’ sneaky ways. However, if you are a bold faced liar perhaps you would be rewarded. Always remember that your sins will find you out. It is better to live in fear of the Lord, who is righteous and just in all His ways because you know where you stand by His Word, than to be compromising especialy when it is to do wrong or evil.

Deuteronomy 3:22
“Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.”

Do not be afraid to side for the truth, the right, the just, the fair in business and stand up for the ways of the Lord. He is your defender and supplier of your needs when you obey Him. Do what is right.

Lord please help me to live and do right in my work, that I might please You. Keep me from the evil one who tempts me to do evil or wrong, unjustly and even illegally. Please give me the strength to resist the wrong so that I need not fear being found out. Keep me honest and pure in Your eyes. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
