I fell this morning, it was sudden, unexpected and perhaps could have been prevented with moving slower, more careful and aware of my surroundings. I was remembered of
Matthew 10:29-31 ESV
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
I had a destination in mind and was too excited to get to it when midway, I tripped and fell and before I knew it I was on the ground laid low because I did not notice the pouff that stood between me and my i-pad which was on the table. I grasped the i-pad and went flying on tripping and so did my i-pad out of my hand. Thank God I suffered no broken bones, and my i-pad landed on a cushioned chair. I suffered painful bruises, a reminder for several days after to be careful at my age as my eyes are no longer as clear, my mobility and reflex much slower, my momentum once intiated was difficult to stop.
That was a physical fall. How about when I suffer?a swift spiritual fall ? Was it because I was not mindful of the speedbumps between me and my objective? Was it because I was not focussed on the spiritual endeavour and allowed the devil to distract me enroute? I must remember that I am in His hand no matter the suffering and pain from the fall, He will lift me up again to do His will . God on the mountain is still God in the valley. He is faithful and His love does not change when I fall. He will pick me up if I remain humble, repent and strive for the high calling of God today.
