Prize the Presence
Psalm 51:Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
God’s presence fills the heaven and earth. You feel His Presence especially when you accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. Romans 8:9 and other Scriptures teach that if the Spirit of God isn’t in you, you’re not a Christian Christians have the promise of God’s constant presence, even when we don’t feel it (Matthew 28:20, John 14:16).
When there is unconfessed sin which pervades the life of a “Christian”, the Spirit of God may depart as a judgement for sin. The Lord repeatedly equates His judgment as removal from His presence and blessing. We see this in 2 Kings 17:16They forsook all the commands of the Lord their God and made for themselves two idols cast in the shape of calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the starry hosts, and they worshiped Baal. 17 They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sought omens and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.18 So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence.
In the end time. we find in Matthew 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
