One must have discipline and subjection to a living Christ in order to live in this present cold dark world of ungodliness. The ungodly world we live in is getting worse and worse.
Discipline from the Holy Spirit pays off when opportunities such as lust of the flesh arise. The Bible says we live in the world but are not of the world. Christians have power not to yield to the deception of the world, the flesh, and the Devil. Christians come out from among them thus living for and with the Christ who saved and redeemed their lost soul.
Christians can and must draw a line between life in the Spirit and the life of yielding to the flesh. Power to overcome is the fruit of the Gospel that people receive when they get saved. So much is given through the fruit of righteousness. More than enough is given to the child of God to have and maintain the blessed life this side of Heaven.
Christians are overcomers in this life. They are a very blessed people that don’t have to go back to the old life and the old ways. Christ provides what they need to overcome addictions. Christ provides the way, the truth, and the life. To be happy in Jesus is to trust and obey.
