God’s Sovereignty is not dependent on what we think or see. God is sovereign. He is wise. He is mighty. He can do things which man perceives as impossible. Because we are humans, we sometimes approach God, through our feelings and senses. We reduce God to a lower stature than He truly He is. And when man fails to see or feel His presence, we try to create our own gods. A palpable, seen, and material god. Man exchanged the glory of the Creator to that of His creatures. “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.” -Romans 1:20-23.
God works in ways that our limited mind and senses could hardly fathom. “For nothing will be impossible with God.” -Luke 1:37. There are so many things that man finds it an impossibility. I guess, even the most objective person, could still throw doubts as to what God can truly do. Why? Because, foremostly, man operates according to what he sees and feels. The things we see and our feelings are the usual validation of what is reality and what is happening around. But in God, we could not approach Him in like manner. God is beyond our feelings and senses. He is even beyond how we understand things. The Bible is very clear on how Sovereign, mighty, and wise God is. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” -1 Corinthians 2:16. “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord,or who has been his counselor?’” -Romans 11:33-34. “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” -1 Corinthians 1:25. God’s understanding is unsearchable (Isaiah 40:28). Anything is possible with God. Job said, “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” -Job 42:2. “Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.” -Jeremiah 32:17. “Do you not fear me? declares the Lord.Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.” -Jeremiah 5:22. “O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” -Psalm 104:24. “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?” -Jeremiah 32:27. The next time you feel doubt creeping in your heart, look to His Word because His Word is the truth. He is able and with Him, all things are possible!
