In Part One, we saw what man’s conception of the Sabbath is not. Reviewing, the sabbath commandment is not made for a righteous man (I Timothy 1: 8-9). The sabbath is not a hoop to jump through to prove that we are righteous before God. Trying to keep the sabbath day holy is not the way for us to become righteous in God’s eyes.

Yet, an awakening Christian keeps on trying to keep the sabbath, always looking over their shoulder at the guilty conscience lurking close by, never knowing for sure if they have sinned or not. “Will it be a sin if I don’t go to the sabbath meeting?” many have wondered.

After high school, Kenneth Wayne Hancock enlisted in the Army, serving in a MASH hospital in Quang Tri, Vietnam during the Tet Offensive of January 1968. When he got out of the Army, he settled in Concord, Calif. and married Linda. He was an everyday drug user for three years, playing in rock bands, and yet still searching for the truth and the meaning to life. It was there that it was shown to him that the old self had to die. This led to an amazing conversion to Christ that would lead them to a 14 year stint as full time missionaries to Mexico and Ecuador. He also went on an expedition to Mt.   1. Brother, and awesome and truthful teaching. Oh that more Christians especially would see the truth in this. The Lord has ALWAYS been our place of refuge and rest and one day it will be realized spiritually! Awesome! God Bless!
